Blizzard has posted updates concerning latency issues and problems connecting to following reports of login issues. This affects all games accessed through, including Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone. Posting on the forums, a Blizzard representative stated, "Our network engineers are working on addressing the issue and resolving the attack as quickly as possible... Thanks for hanging in there while we deal with this attack!"

We are currently monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games.

Hacking group PoodleCorp has claimed responsibility. Earlier this week, the same group claimed to have launched an attack on Pokemon Go servers.

The attack comes just after Overwatch received a big update today to celebrate the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition to new cosmetic items (see all the new skins here), the update introduced a new limited-time mode called Lucioball. The update is live now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and will remain available until August 22.

GameSpot is monitoring this story as it develops, so check back for updates!
